Uttar Pradesh CAA Registration: The Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 is effective from 10 January 2020. As per the new CAA Act 2019, Govt. of India is going to give Indian Citizenship to the people who have fled religious minorities before 1 Jan 2015 (Till 31 December 2014) from Countries: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan. The Minority religion is Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian.

Question: Is NRC will follow after CAA and all migrants (given Indian Citizenship under CAA) except Muslims will be given citizenship and Muslims will be sent to detention camps?
Answer: As per the notification of Govt. of India, there is no linking of CAA and NRC. The legal provisions regarding NRC have been part of The Citizenship Act, 1955 since December 2004. The CAA registration/ online application is not applicable to the Indian Citizen in India. They NRC is the process of registration of Indian citizens and the issuance of national identity cards to them.

The CAA UP Online/ Offline Form is only applicable to the person living in Uttar Pradesh state who have come before 1 Jan 2015 (till 31 December 2014) from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and are from religious minority i.e. Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian. The CAA is all about giving the Indian Citizenship to the person under the CAA Act 2019.

CAA UP Form 2020: Offline Mode
For the Uttar Pradesh CAA form is concerned, you need to get it/ print online or visit the nearest Village Panchayat/ Samiti, Block Development Officer/ District Collectorate/ Tehsil.

- Aadhaar No of each member.

Uttar Pradesh CAA Online Registration
The easiest way to apply for CAA is the ONLINE mode of UP CAA Form. First of all you need to download the notification and read it carefully. You need to follow the steps given. If you have any issue/ problem or query contact to support team.
Here is the complete process you have to follow:-
- Visit the official website of CAA Uttarpradesh i.e. caaup.nic.in or caa.up.gov.in
- “Download Notification” read it carefully.
- Now, click on ‘Apply Online”
- Enter basic details ie. Name, Mobile Number, Fathers Name and Country of Origin
- Fill your personal details, Origin Citizenship (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh), Current Address, Contact Details, Family Members
- Enter ID Details asked
- Upload documents
- Verify using the thump impression based on Aadhaar Card and OTP.
Question: Can Hindus facing persecution on grounds of religion in countries other than these Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh countries apply under the CAA?
Answer: No, they will have to apply through the usual process to get Indian Citizenship just like any other foreigner for either registration or naturalization as a citizen of India. They would get no preference under The Citizenship Act, 1955, even after the CAA.
CAA Uttar Pradesh eligibility criteria is available as per the official Notification provided by CAA Act 2019
Here is the basic eligibility criteria based on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.
1. Must be in India before/ on 31 December 2014. Completed 5 years till 31 December 2019 in India.
2. Migrants who had suffered “religious persecution or fear of religious persecution” in their country of origin were made eligible for citizenship.
3. Belong to religious minorities in any of these three countries fulfilling the above 2 points (Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan).

Uttar Pradesh CAA Dates
When is the Uttar Pradesh Govt. will announce online CAA form or start of registration. Here, we are providing tentative timetable for the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019.
